  3. Divide the marinade into two equal parts. To one half of the marinade, add lemon juice or additional yogurt to enhance the tanginess, if desired.

  4. Rub one portion of the marinade onto the chicken, ensuring it is evenly coated inside and out. Reserve the remaining marinade for basting.

  5. Marinate the chicken for at least an hour, allowing the flavors to infuse.

  6. Preheat your grill or tandoor. Skewer the marinated chicken and place it on the grill.

  7. Grill the chicken on either side, rotating occasionally, until it is cooked through and has a beautiful charred exterior. Baste the chicken with oil from time to time to prevent drying out, using the reserved marinade for added flavor.
